MG Trophy Championship at Snetterton; And the winner is…

 Ollie Coles!

We’re thrilled to announce that our Purdicom sponsored MG Trophy Championship driver Ollie Coles roared across the Snetterton finish line to claim first place two weekends ago.

Snetterton is the final round of the championships, which includes 6 race venues – Silverstone, Brandshatch, Mallory Park, Oulton Park, Snetterton and Knockhill. Three classes exist to segment drivers according to car, with our driver competing in class B – ZR cars in 170 bhp form running on list 1B Dunlop control tyres.

Snetterton saw Ollie drive two races, both on top form. With favourable wet weather on his side, Ollie qualified P2 in class for both races, which meant he would start 5th overall, then 4th overall.

And both races delivered! Race one brought Ollie to an impressive 2nd place in his class. That in and of itself is a fantastic result, but Mr. Coles was far from done. There was, after all, a second race to be completed.

And Ollie more than delivered.

A fluffed gear change at the start didn’t stop our driver from pulling out all the stops and taking the lead after a daring move at the hairpin. After that, the battle between Paul Luti and Ollie Coles for the lead kept the race at its most intense.

Ollie emerged victorious to claim his first Trophy class win!

Not only that, but he was awarded Driver of the Race for race 2!

A huge congratulations to Ollie on his fantastic end to the season. Onwards and upwards for 2018!
